GRASP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable, college-access organization that assists students and families in obtaining funding for post-secondary education. GRASP fills a specific need in 87 high schools in the state of VA by educating students about how to fund post-secondary education and providing hands-on help to follow through with the required applications. This is an involved process made more complicated by an array of deadlines and necessary information. In-school advisors work within high school counseling departments where they are welcomed for their particular expertise in post-secondary financial aid.
Sharon Cox is the GRASP Advisor for Hermitage High School.
Sharon is thrilled to be a part of the GRASP family as an advisor. Sharon graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She earned her law degree from the University Of Virginia School Of Law. Sharon and her husband Ned have four boys and two rescue dogs. Three of her boys attend Henrico County Public Schools where Sharon is actively involved in their middle and high schools. Her oldest is a freshman in college. Sharon also volunteers as a hospital accompaniment advocate for Safe Harbor. In her free time, Sharon enjoys reading, traveling, walking, and watching her boys' activities. She is extremely excited to help students and families successfully navigate the path to their educational dreams.
